Julie

Julie Healy is the Senior Director of Development & Marketing at Roy Maas Youth Alternatives (RMYA). The agency has supported children in the foster care system for over 47 years with a comprehensive continuum of care. Julie leads a team responsible for generating awareness and support for the organization and the children it serves. Before joining RMYA, Julie led all marketing and fundraising efforts at the Animal Defense League of Texas (ADL), the largest and oldest no-kill animal shelter in Greater San Antonio.

She entered the nonprofit field in 2018 as the Program Director of the Masters Leadership Program (MLP), an organization under the United Way umbrella that prepares proven community leaders for board service. She will always value the years she spent at both nonprofits, compassionately addressing community needs and the factors that drive it. As MLP Program Director, Julie interfaced with the leadership of institutions across all major sectors in San Antonio. Before shifting to nonprofit work, Julie spent several years at home raising her children and over a decade in media sales for companies such as Infinity Broadcasting (CBS) and Clear Channel Communications.

Julie graduated from Southern Methodist University in Dallas with a Bachelor of Arts in Broadcast News. While raising children at home, Julie served on SA Youth’s Chips ‘n Salsa Committee, fostered and volunteered for San Antonio Pets Alive, and worked extensively as a Northeast ISD PTA board member. She was honored for her volunteerism with the Texas PTA Lifetime Membership Award. Julie and her husband, Kevin, of 28 years, live in Stone Oak and have college-aged twins, Ryan and Olivia, and two rescue dogs, Leo and Cowboy.
